If you were lucky enough to plan a vacation in the days before the internet, you know that booking a hotel or vacation rental could sometimes be a gamble. While travel books and magazines — and yes, even phone books — could help you find a place to stay, all too often, you had little idea of what to expect until you arrived.

Would the location be close enough to local attractions and dining, or would you be spending your trip sitting in traffic? Would your room be spotless and sparkling or dim and dingy?

Luckily, the internet now makes it a breeze to choose your hotel or vacation rental, with a little help from reviews and photos posted by travelers who have visited the places you’re considering. Watchman Villas is no exception.

If you’re thinking about booking a vacation rental in Springdale, Utah this winter, keep reading to see what real travelers had to say about their stay in a few of our most popular villas.

The Aspen Villa

This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo is a popular choice for families visiting Springdale and Zion National Park. Located above Springdale Visitor Center, The Aspen villa features 1,300 square feet of living space, as well as 1,500 feet of outdoor space perfect for enjoying a family BBQ or sipping your morning coffee with views of Zion’s towering rock formations. Previous visitors rave about the outdoor living space and the incredible views it has to offer.

“We were able to eat outside every day. and appreciate the beautiful valley. Very family-friendly with so many spaces to choose from. Coffee outside in the comfy chairs was another plus. The pictures are very accurate. The shuttle stop was right in front. The kitchen only lacked dishtowels, placemats, and cloth napkins. A plus was being able to swim in the day of departure at their sister hotel., which was artfully landscaped. Quick response to questions.” -Tripadvisor review

“Had a wonderful stay with our family of 6. The inside of The Aspen villa was beautiful, comfy beds, all the conveniences you would need and more, but the highlight is the outside living room with beautiful views! We couldn’t see any place better to stay as we walked the town. Didn’t want to leave.” -Tripadvisor review

The Juniper

While smaller than The Aspen, The Juniper villa is a great choice for couples or friends looking to plan a special getaway. This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom condo features great views of Zion from the private balcony. Visitors love the views, as well as the spacious and beautiful living spaces.

“We stayed in the Juniper for two nights and it was cozy, quiet, clean and close to Zion Park entrance. The condo had a private balcony with a beautiful view. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed…even fresh coffee that was delicious. Living room had comfortable furniture for lounging after a day of hiking. Spacious bathroom and bedroom with soft linens. We couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely be back in the spring!” -Tripadvisor review

“Great little apartment minutes away from Zion. Fantastic views. Right next to number 6 shuttle station for easy access to park. Very clean and up to date appliances with soaker tub after those long hikes.” -Tripadvisor review

The Maple

Another 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo, The Maple can accommodate large families or groups of friends. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed, while a guest bedroom offers 2 queen beds and a sofa bed in the living room can sleep 2 additional guests. The open-concept kitchen is great for whipping up snacks for a movie night in, or for prepping some trail meals before a day of hiking in Zion.

“I can’t say enough about this place! It’s a great location right on the shuttle line, but set back a little from the road so it gives privacy without feeling isolated. It is so hard to find upscale, new rentals in the parks and this was a gem! It’s a little hard to find because there is no sign but just go to the visitor center and you’ll be all set. They were also very quick to respond to any/all inquiries. We’re not ones to eat 3 meals out on trips so a kitchen is mandatory for quick breakfasts and meal prep for hikes. This kitchen had it all. If you’re looking for a budget place to stay, this isn’t it, but if you want creature comforts and amenities, this will suit all your needs.” -Tripadvisor review
