If you’re someone who prefers to eat healthy even while on vacation, you know that finding healthy, nutritious, and delicious options in tourist destinations can be a challenge. More often than not, fast food, pizza, and snacks are the norm, and healthy alternatives can be difficult to find—unless you know where to look.

Springdale, Utah is full of delicious dining options. There’s plenty of pizza, desserts, and delicious Tex-Mex, as well as a few fast food options. But there are also a variety of healthy options to choose from as well.

If you’re planning a stay at Watchman Villas and want some healthy food options, keep reading. We’ve got some tips for eating healthy in Zion National Park, and some restaurants in Springdale with delicious, healthy options.

Top Tips for Eating Healthy in Zion National Parks

Vacationing doesn’t have to mean giving up your health goals. In fact, filling up on healthy, nutritious meals can give you the energy that you’ll need to power through a challenging hike of Angels Landing. Sticking to your usual diet while on vacation can also help keep you from feeling tired or even ill.

Book a Vacation Rental Instead of a Hotel

One of the best tips you can follow for eating healthy in Zion National Park is to book a stay in a vacation rental instead of a hotel. While some hotels have a fridge in the room and maybe a microwave, these are small and not a guarantee. They also aren’t enough to whip up a meal or even some better trail snacks to take with you into the park.

Dining within the national park itself is limited. There is a restaurant located in the Zion Lodge, but this is often crowded and has a small menu. If you’re planning to do a lot of hiking and sightseeing, you also might not want to take a break in the middle of the day to head to a restaurant.

Instead, it’s a good idea to pack some trail snacks or even a meal with you when you head into the park. The Zion National Park rentals at Watchman Villas each have a full kitchen, with everything you’ll need to make a bagged lunch or trail snacks to keep you energized all day long. While we’ll cover some healthy dining options in Springdale in this article, if you’d rather make your own meals, you can do so in the kitchen, too.

Don’t Skip Breakfast

When you’re trying to get an early start on Zion’s trails, you might be tempted to skip breakfast on your way out the door of our Zion National Park rentals. But this is a big mistake.

Whether you get up early to make a full breakfast in your villa’s kitchen or make some grab-and-go foods the night before, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially if you plan to do a lot of hiking and other outdoor activities.

Check the Menus

Our last tip for eating healthily in Zion National Park is to check the menus of any restaurants that catch your eye. While many dining options in Springdale have items like pizza or burritos on the menu, you’ll find healthy options on almost every menu in town.
